Updates on Brain Health @ AAIC 2019

In Los Angeles at the Alzheimer's Association International Conference (AAIC) this week, Quantu Project team members presented the Quantu Project study design and preliminary findings from our study on individual trends in sleep related to cognitive health, and new experiments on neural network formation.

Themes at the AAIC meeting included observational studies linking multiple lifestyle habits to improved cognitive health. A summary of habits that have been associated with decreased risk of dementia from recent studies are shown in the schematic.

By integrating methods from systems biology, computer science and neuroscience, the Quantu Project aims to understand how daily activity, including sleep and exercise, changes cognitive health for each individual - and whether this is related to the ability of new brain cells to form, repair and function.
